True Nature -- Master Hsin Tao
本來面目 True Nature
我們的本來面目,原本就在那裡.
我們為什麼不能夠見到本性?為什麼不能夠見到本來面目?是什麼原因呢?我們的覺性、本性、本來面目沒有一時一刻離開過,為什麼我們不能夠見到它?什麼東西讓我們見不到它?吃飯的時候吃飯、睡覺的時候睡覺、走路的時候走路、想東西的時候就想東西,本來面目就在那裡!為什麼見不到?差在哪裡?什麼東西阻礙了?
最重要的是沒有沈澱下來,種種的雜想、雜染、非想、非非想、有想、無想、非有想、非無想,這些東西都障礙了我們見性成佛。
我們時刻跟本來面目在一起,當下也就是本來面目!
何以輪迴生死?何以有見思惑?
安靜的聆聽,沈澱一切的見惑思惑,讓我們顯現本來面目的萬德莊嚴。
專一聆聽,把一切的妄執、雜想沈澱,用寂靜修來沈澱一切的雜質,讓我們愈來愈明白什麼是本來面目!
True Nature
Our true nature has always been there.
Why can’t we see our true nature? What is the reason? Our true nature, the Buddha-nature, the enlightened mind free from all illusion, has never left, but why do we not see it? What had hindered our vision? When we eat, we eat; when we sleep, we sleep; when we walk, we walk; when we think, we think; the true nature is there! Why can’t we see it? How far away are we? What blocks it?
The most important thing is, we do not let our minds settle down. We are filled with thoughts, non-thoughts, troubles (sajkleśa), and our minds are beyond the condition of thinking or not-thinking, of active consciousness or unconsciousness, having desires, without desires, at the state of neither thinking nor not thinking. All these conditions have hindered us from seeing the true nature and become a Buddha.
We are always with our true nature, even now, it is the true nature!
Why are there rebirths? Why are there illusory thoughts and erroneous views of things that truly exist, and beliefs such as ego (self) is real?
Listen quietly, let the illusory and false views & thoughts precipitate, and let our true nature surface.
Listen with concentration; let all attachments and false views settle. Let the composed mind, free from temptation and distress, calm the impure thoughts, and let us be able to see the true nature clearer.
