《調心的方法》
問:師父常說,會調心的人就會生活,會生活的人就會有福報。可是在這麽繁忙,甚至這麽痛苦的世界裡,每天要面對這麽多煩雜的事,到底要如何做才能調心?
答:調心就是讓我們的心調到"善",不要生起傷害人的念頭,還要調到 "慈"、"悲"、"喜"、"捨" ,讓我們的心經常都喜悅。這可以從服務他人、不求回報開始做到。

Regulating One's minds
Q: Master often say, "one who knows how to be regulate one's mind will know how to live life meaningfully; and when one knows how to live life meaningfully, one will be blessed. However, we are always busy and caught up with so many things in the world, how then do we regulate our mind?
A: Regulating our mind means, to steer it towards good, i.e. not to have thoughts that will cause harm to others, and direct on'es mind towards "Loving Kindness" (metta), "Compassion" (karunā), "Joy" (su-manas), and "Equanimity" (upeksā), thus allowing it to be in the right disposition. You can start by helping others without expecting anything in return.

“學佛的困擾”
問:以前和親慼或朋友們相處,總是很愉快。但自從學佛以後,就變得不太對勁,每當我把學佛的事告訴他們,他們都不愛聼,到底爲什麽?
答:可能他們學佛的緣分還未到!另一個原因,也可能是你所說的佛法,和他們講的話無法銜接起來。話接不起來,當然聼不下去。佛法必須生活化,生活化的佛法才能够讓人聼得下去。如果佛法離開生活,就比較不容易去感受。所以傳播佛法就像做生意,必須參到能夠說出他愛聼的話,生意才會成功。

Q: In the past, I always had fun meeting up with my friends and relatives. However, things change after I became a Buddhist. They became very indifferent whenever I talk to them about my Dharma experiences. What's wrong?
A: This could be because they may not have the affinity to the Buddhist teachings yet. Another reason could be the way you deliver. When one has problem linking with the subject matter, it is natural for them to lose interest. Dharma is in everyday life, and only an everyday life Dharma can be easily identified with; if Dharma moved away from the everyday life, it will not be easily apprehended. Propagating Dharma is like doing business, the business is only successful when you speak the same language.
